Description
This is a 3D printed model of Aluminium tri(quinolin-8-olate), C27H18AlN3O3. The short-name for this molecule is Alq3, or Tris. The atoms are 3D printed in the correct ratios based on data from the Cambridge Crystallographic Database. It is mounted on an aluminium tube of 8 mm diameter on a walnut-wood base in the shape of a triangle. The model is 27 cm high, 21 cm wide and 21 cm deep. Aluminium tri(quinolin-8-olate) is used in the production of OLEDs. More about Tris you can read on PubChem. Read this blog post to see how I make the atoms and build molecules: 3D printed atoms.
