This is a wooden molecule model of Dopamine, C8H11NO2. The atoms are hand painted wooden spheres in the correct ratios based on data from the Cambridge Crystallographic Database. It is mounted on an oak wood base with Dopamine engraved in it. The model is made as a traditional ball-stick model. The sticks are nickel-plated brass rods.

Dopamine is a type of neurotransmitter. The human body makes it, and the nervous system uses it to send messages between nerve cells. That’s why it’s sometimes called a chemical messenger.
