This is a wooden molecule model of TNT (Trinitrotoluene), C7H5N3O6. The atoms are hand painted wooden spheres in the correct ratios based on data from the Cambridge Crystallographic Database. It is mounted on an oak base in the shape of a bomb. On the back there is a slot to hang the model on the wall.
The TNT model is mounted in a custom made plexiglass holder mounted on brass rod.
TNT is a chemical explosive that has often been used in warfare. The purified material is a yellow, crystalline substance and is very toxic.
The size of the model is 18cm x 7cm x 24cm (width, depth, height).
The model is a unique model and the images are of the model itself.
